New Collaboration between IALC and FELCA

The President of FELCA, Mr. Paolo Barilari and IALC, Mr. Robin Adams, are delighted to announce a collaboration focused on improving the relationships between schools and agents.

The Federation of Education and Language Consultant Associations is a worldwide association of national associations of language and education consultant providers (est. 2000).  Founded in 1983, The International Association of Language Centres was established to create a gold standard for quality language schools.  FELCA and IALC share a vision to promote a dynamic community of schools and agents dedicated to delivering high-quality language learning.

Through a series of conversations on the joint concerns about the future relationships between schools and agents, Mr. Barilari and Mr. Adams set out to host panel discussions between key decisions makers in the industry and to explore two critical areas identified by the members of the world’s most prestigious agency associations.  On November 23, 2021 simultaneous panel discussions on the potential for Global Agency / School contracts and the implementation of Escrow accounts were held.

The presidents of FELCA and IALC would like to thank the panelists for sharing their expertise as these important areas of discussion.  The panelists were as follows:

Ms. Gabriela Arditor (ARSAA)

Mr. Moshi Ueoku (JAOS)

Ms. Maura Leão (BELTA)

Mr. William Herrera (AMTE)

Ms. Julia Richter (FDSV)

Mr. Jonathan Quinn (CES)

Ms. Jane Dancaster (WSE)

Ms. Francesca Romani Memoli (Accademia Italiana)

Mr. Eren Goker (UED)

Mr. Alexandre Argenta (BELTA)

Ms. Celestine Rowland (Galway Cultural Institute)

Ms. Alexandra Borges de Sousa (CIAL)

These discussions are ongoing and Mr. Barilari and Mr. Adams will be sending regular updates on the progress of these discussions.  The ultimate aim will be to create improved understanding between agents and schools to ensure the protection and security for international students studying abroad in a post-pandemic environment.
